Saptaparni is presenting a program based on the Ramayana, titled "Ramayana Alive", on 17th January, at its premises in Banjara Hills. The evening will include a dance performance Thyagaraja Ramayana, an Ekaharya By Dr. Ananda Shankar at 6:15pm, followed by a story-telling on Ramkatha by Dr. Paula Richman at 7pm.

Selected kritis of Thyagaraja are used to describe the story of Lord Rama, as well as to depict Thyagaraja's reaction to the various episodes in Rama's life. Valmiki slokas are used for continuity, and have been set to music by Subhashini Shankar.
