On the occasion of the 163rd birth anniversary of aaint Thyagaraja, and the 33rd Anniversary of the Samithi, Vignana Samithi is organising its Annual Music Festival, from 5th to 11th January, at the Anand Nagar Community Hall, Khairatabad. Several Carnatic music artistes will be performing at the week-long festival.
On 8th January, T S Pattabhirama Pandit from Bangalore will be performing. he will be accompanied by Ramaraju Dinakar on the violin, S Aravind on the mridangam and P Srinivas Gopalan on the morsing.
Pattabhirama Pandit is one of the top ranked young and upcoming artistes in the field of Carnatic music, and is a disciple of Padmasri K V Narayana Swamy. A software engineer by profession, this young artiste has performed in many places, including at Hyderabad, Chennai, Madurai, Trivandrum, Salem, Tirupati, New Delhi and the USA.
Vignana Samithi, which is in its 33rd year of existence, tries to propagate Carnatic music by organising music concerts every month. It provides a platform for upcoming artistes by giving opportunities, and at the same time gets senior artistes to perform and conduct workshops. Many senior artistes have performed for the organisation, including Dr. Balamurali Krishna, the Malladi Brothers, the Hyderabad Brothers and Sankaranarayanan.
