The Hyderabad Film Club is screening a Belgian-French film The Son, on 17th June, at Sarathi Studios.
The film was directed and written by Jean-Pierre Dardenne and Luc Dardenne, and the cast includes Morgan Marinne, Isabella Soupart, and Oliver Goumet.
Le Fils (The Son) is a movie about revenge and redemption. Olivier, a carpenter (played by Olivier Gourmet) takes on a young man named Francis (Morgan Marinne) as an apprentice. Francis is newly released from juvenile detention, and Olivier discovers immediately that he has a dark history with Francis. Francis, however, is unaware of the connection he shares with Olivier.
Olivier Gourmet received the Best Actor Award at the 2002 Cannes Film Festival for his portrayal of the tormented Olivier.
