On a rainy day, Raju is surprised to find that a parrot has sought shelter in his veranda. To add to his surprise, the parrot speaks and says that its name is Gangaram. The two become good friends. Raju is sad that he cannot take Gangaram to school with him as his teacher had objected to it. Meanwhile, a greedy cat is determined to do away with Gangaram and one day, Gangaram goes missing. Raju is dismayed but to his relief, he discovers that Gangaram has been more than a match for the cat.
