The fog on one of the hottest topics in the world of business intelligence lifts on 18th November. Cloud computing, unravelled, at the Microsoft Campus. The TDWI India Chapter is conducting an event on "Business Intelligence In The Cloud", this 18th of November, 2010.
Cloud computing is the latest generation of computing paradigms, that is considered disruptive by many industry experts. There is a great deal of confusion over the definition of cloud computing and its benefits to organizations. Many analysts even feel that it has yet to live up to the hype. However, few argue about the cloud's potential to change the way computing resources are delivered.
TDWI's event aims to discuss not only the different definitions of the cloud, but also the potential benefits and challenges of architecting BI solutions in external, virtual computing architectures. Lessons learned, and best practices and pitfalls of BI in the cloud, will also be shared.
The participating speakers are leaders from Microsoft, Infosys, Mahindra Satyam, Progress Software and Computer Associates. Sessions include an overview session, a talk on cloud computing paradigm in BI, a case study, and a session on building BI cloud solutions. This is a half-day workshop from 1:30pm to 5:30pm, and eminent personalities from various walks of life will be sharing their valued views on different topics, as per the schedule given below:

Sreenivas Simhadri is General Manager, Microsoft (IT), with over 18 years of experience in the definition, development and delivery of software products and services. He spent 15 years with Microsoft, and runs the offshore engineering team for Business Intelligence for MSIT. He started his career as a compiler-developer, and moved up the stack to SQL Server, CRM and ERP solutions and most recently to MSIT.
Raj Biyani is General Manager, Microsoft (IT). As a GM for CIO Strategic Initiatives, he shapes the cloud strategy for Microsoft-IT in moving the 1st generation of enterprise applications on the cloud. He has been granted 7 US and EU patents.
Prabhakar Kasu is the Founder-CEO of Ortus Consulting. He also co-founded Argentum Technologies - a Cloud Computing Consulting and Services business. He brings 25 years of multi-functional, Fortune 50, leadership experiences from Strategy, IT, Product Development, Consulting and Services. Prior to his entrepreneurial journey, he led a $14 billion GE Industrial's IT captive in India followed by strategic and operational leadership roles with Microsoft's IT organization.
Ramesh Loganathan is the VP (Products) and Managing Director of Progress Software (India). This center is organized in a COE (Centre of Expertise) model, where groups are organized inline with technology horizontals that work on multiple products/components. He provides strategic guidance to all PSI's product teams with a specific focus on cross-product considerations for the SOA and Data integration. He was the VP of Middleware Technologies at Pramati. He has been active in Tech flora, JCP and SPEC organizations. He is a member of several Standards Expert groups including J2EE 1.3. Co-founded ebXMLIndia.org and hyd-eclipse.org, and organizes Bar Camps and Startup events. He is an adjunct faculty at IIIT, Hyderabad.
Ramesh Kumar Koona is the head of Decisions (Business Intelligence IP unit) at Mahindra Satyam, and is an AVP in the CTO organization. He has over 17 years of industry experience in sales and IT sectors.
Bhavin Jayantilal Raichura is a Technology Architect, Infosys, who has has over 13 years of experience. He has worked in multiple industries, different domains and various products & services organizations.
Amiteshwar Dayal Seth is the Delivery Manager, Infosys, and has close to 14 years of experience of designing and implementing business intelligence solutions. He has been involved with multiple BI transformat on engagements, and has worked on solution offerings and alliances around DW, ETL, Data Quality and Analytics.
Subbu Venkatraman is the VP, Software Engineering, Computer Associates. He heads the engineering team for Service Management and Workload Automation at the India Technology Center. His primary role at CA involves managing product engineering and product development of multiple software products. His interest areas include Manufacturing & Supply Chain Management, Enterprise Application Integration, Cloud Computing & Virtualization, Enterprise Analytics & Master Data Management.
