Tata Crucible Business Quiz 2010: Events in Hyderabad

REVIEW FOR TATA CRUCIBLE BUSINESS QUIZ...

The Tata Crucible Business Quiz 2009 is being organised on 20th August at the RNR Auditorium, from 2pm to 6pm.

The quiz is conducted every year by the Tata Group in 19 cities across the country, and is organised in 2 different tracks - one for employees of Tata companies and one for non-Tata companies - at two levels again, regional and national. The winning team from each regional round will participate in the National Final that will be held in Mumbai in late September.

Today's quiz is for the non-Tata track. Teams from corporates, financial institutions, public sector undertakings, media companies, and ad agencies - other than Tata companies - are taking part in the quiz. Some of the participants are Deloitte, HSBC, ICICI, Dell, Convergys, Cognizant Technologies, Virtusa, Motorola, Wipro and Zoom TV.

A team consists of 2 individuals from the same organisation, and there's no restriction on the number of teams from an organisation.

The format is in the following order - prelims, a written elimination for all contestants, followed by the on-stage regional final. The top 6 teams from the written prelims will qualify for the regional finals.

The 6th edition of the quiz will cover a wide canvas of subjects in the world of business, ranging from business houses to brands, and from products to business basics.

The winners and the runners-up in the regional finals will receive cash rewards of Rs. 75,000 and Rs. 35,000 respectively. There will also be other prizes for the audience too. The winners of the National Finals will receive a grand prize worth Rs. 4 lakhs. Last year, the final was won by Vizag Steel Plant, Visakhapatnam.

Tata Crucible was started as a key initiative in 2004, a year which was christened as the 'Century Of Trust' year to commemorate the death centenary of the Group's founder, J N Tata, and the birth centenaries of 2 of its illustrious leaders - J R D Tata and Naval H Tata.

The quiz is being hosted by quizmaster Giri Balasubramaniam, popularly known as Pickbrain, who heads Greycaps India Pvt Ltd, a quiz company headquartered in Bangalore.
