How about feasting on the world-famous Hyderabadi cuisine paired with a glass of Californian Wine for your dinner? Well, Taj Deccan is welcoming the New Year with a unique Food 'N' Wine menu by pairing Californian Wine with Hyderabadi cuisine. A first-of-its-kind festival, it is being organised at the Spice Junxion, a multi-speciality restaurant of Taj Deccan, from 16th to 26th January.
The a la carte menu offers a wide variety of starters. The non-vegetarian section includes lamb mince with dry spices yoghurt onion stuffing, cheddar & black cumin chicken; lamb mince skewers with oregano, olives and dusted with cheese; fish with cilantro mint masala; and lemon grass tandoori prawnsand. The vegetarians can go for basil cottage cheese; vegetable steaks with dry spices and yoghurt onion stuffing; parmesan cheddar broccoli; spinach steaks with cashewnut; and stuffed cottage cheese squares.
The main course offers (non-veg) - lamb shank with spiced rice; chicken almond stew with flaky mint bread; lamb mince slowly baked with saffron bread; lamb shanks with reduced sauce and whole wheat bread; chicken saffron rice melange; and (veg) - pan tossed cottage cheese; pepper cherry tomatoes; country style spinach; sweet corn with onion, garlic, fresh chives, with a duet of fresh green peas & water chestnuts; sliced potatoes with home-made spices & fresh herbs; and mix vegetable orchestra.
Guests can pick their choice of wine from a wide range of brands like Kendall Jackon Sonama Zinfandel 2002, Corbett Canyon Chardonnay, Francis Copolo Diamond Series Syrah 2001 and Benziger Carneros Cabernet Sauvignon 2003, and desserts that include stewed apricots drambuie with cream, slowly baked bread with baileys rabdi, steamed garlic with reduced milk & saffro, and rose petal ice cream.
Hyderabadi pre-plated food will be served in a contemporary style and paired with wines recommended by Devraj and Dennis, who are trained under Master Sommelier Robert Bath of Napa Valley, California. Guests have the choice of ordering a starter, a main course or just a dessert.
