Pakistani pop band Strings is performing live on 18th February at the Bottles & Chimney pub.
Strings is a 2-member Pakistani pop band comprising of Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia. The band started with 4 college students (Bilal, Faisal, Rafiq, Kareem) in 1990 when they came out with their first album (Strings). After releasing their second album Strings-2 in 1992, the band members parted ways. 8 years later, Bilal and Faisal reformed the band and released 2 albums - Duur and Dhaani - which proved to be national and international hits.
The song Naa Jane Kyun from their album Dhaani was included in the soundtrack of the Hindi version of Spiderman 2. In 2005, Strings won the best artist award at the MTV Asia Awards. Ironically, they were nominated as an Indian band as they have sung the title song 'Zinda Hoon' for the Hindi movie Zinda.
