The department of youth services is conducting State Youth Festival, an annual event, at Shilparamam in Madhapur here from January 2.
Folk dances, folk music, one-act plays, classical vocal solo and instrumental music (Sitar, flute, Tabla, Veena and Mridangam), Harmonium (light), Guitar, classical dances (Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Odissi and Manipuri) and elocution will be organised. There will also be non-competitive events in quiz, essay- writing, painting, singing, violin, dance, mono action, ventriloquism, martial arts etc.
The first prize winners at the district level will compete in the state level events and the first prize winners at State Youth Festival will participate in the National Youth Festival to be held at Guwahati in Assam between January 8 and 12.
