South Scope, the monthly film magazine, is organising the 1st South Scope Cine Awards gala night for four 4 Indian languages - Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam - on 19th September, at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC).
The awards will be given away in 12 categories in each of the 4 languages, and the theme for the maiden awards function is 'South Is One'.
The nominations for Telugu movies are:
Best Film - Magadheera, Arundhati, Kick, Arya 2
Best Director - S S Rajamouli (Magadheera), Kodi Ramakrishna (Arundhati), Sukumar (Arya 2), Surender Reddy (Kick)
Best Actor - Ram Charan (Magadheera), Allu Arjun (Arya 2), Prabhas (Billa), Ravi Teja (Kick)
Best Actress - Anushka Shetty (Arundhati), Kajal Aggarwal (Magadheera), Ileana D Cruz (Kick), Tamannaah Bhatia (Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam)
Best Supporting Actor - Sonu Sood (Arundhati), Prakash Raj (Aakasamantha), Sayaji Shinde (Arundhati), Srihari (Magadheera)
Best Supporting Actress - Ramya Krishna (Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam), Manorama (Arundhati), Namitha (Billa), Sheela (Maska)
Best Comedian - Brahmanandam (Koncham Istam Koncham Kashtam), Kovai Sarala (Bumper Offer), Sunil (Maska), Ali (Billa)

Best Female Playback Singer - Priya Hemesh (Ringa Ringa - Arya 2), Nikita Nigam (Dheera Dheera - Magadheera), Geeta Madhuri (Gundello Guitar/Mahammari - Ek Niranjan), Sunitha (Neela Neela Mabbulu - Pravarakhyudu)
Best Lyricist - Sirivennela Sitarama Sastri (Indiramma - Mahatma), Chandrabose (Panchadara Bomma - Magadheera), C Narayana Reddy (Kammukunna Cheektlona - Arundhati), Vanamali (Karigeloga Ee Kshanam - Arya 2)
Best Cinematography - K K Senthil Kumar (Magadheera), K K Senthil Kumar (Arundhati), R D Rajasekhar (Arya 2), Rasool Ellore (Kick)
The glittering awards evening will feature Sridevi Boney Kapoor as the chief guest. The awards will be presented by a galaxy of film stars from the South Indian film industry, that include stars Chiranjeevi, Mammooty, Mohan Lal, Kannada super star Puneeth Rajkumar, Venkatesh and Ram Charan Teja. The stage will pulsate with some entertaining dance numbers by Tamannah, Mamata Mohandas, Allu Arjun, Bharat and Reema Sen. The show will be hosted by Shriya Saran, and Shyam of "Kick" fame.
