Dr B R Ambedkar Open University will host a 10-day "Social Empowerment Week" from April 5 to 14 at its Hyderabad campus, celebrating the legacy of social reformers who championed equality and justice. The event begins with the birth anniversary of Babu Jagjivan Ram and concludes with celebrations of B R Ambedkar. The programme features lectures, seminars, panel discussions, cultural events and literary activities focusing on social justice, reservations and economic reforms. Highlights include a national seminar on constitutional issues, an art camp themed "Art for Social Justice", and memorial lectures on Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Ambedkar. The week will also see the unveiling of Prof G Ram Reddys statue and the launch of digital empowerment initiatives under BRAOU 2.0, along with fellowship distribution for marginalized learners. The initiative underscores the transformative role of education in empowering disadvantaged communities.
