Voleti Rangamani is the daughter of Padmashree C.R Acharya who popularised and retained the art forms of Devdaasi dances such as Simhanandini, Mayurakoutvam, Mahalaksmi Udbhavam in public view. Tonight, witness her disciples performing these exclusive dances in innovative new styles, at Shiparamam amphitheater. This one hour program will have four items:
Vinayaka Stuti
Dashavatara
Simhanandini
Mayurakoutvam
These will be performed by 6 artists, namely: M.S. Ramanujam, Shilpa, Tulika, Maheshwari and Pranvi. These dances have already been performed worldwide by Voleti Rangamani's troupe and some of their peculiarities are the Simhanandini by 5 artists at the same time, something never done before.
