The solo show by this Mumbai-based artiste named Sanjo was called 'The Songs of The Balladeer". For most of the evening, the artiste seemed to be waiting for any semblance of a crowd to show up, but attendance at Syn that night was decidedly thin. However, the songs performed by this long-haired, lanky, yogi-like singer were mind-blowing! He played an electric guitar in a sort of minimal way and created his own percussion by striking a tambourine with his feet. In this way, he managed to keep his vocals in the forefront, enunciating each lyric clearly and perfectly. He has a wonderful voice with a dreamy quality and he chose songs that suited his voice perfectly. His underplayed, understated style of performance was extremely likeable. Would love to hear more of his music.
Pros: High on novelty, very tight performance Cons: Poor sound system
