The Hyderabad Western Music Foundation, in association with the Alliance Francaise of Hyderabad and Goethe Zentrum, is presenting a recital of romantic songs by Gabriele Schepers-Wittig from Germany on the German Soprano and Fareed Curmally from Mumbai on the piano, on 22nd October, at the Vidyaranya High School, Saifabad.
The program is divided into two halves. The first half will feature songs in Polish and German by composers Frederic Chopin and Robert Schumann (1810), to commemmorate their 200th birth anniversary celebrations, while the second half will have songs in English by Roger Quilter and Haydn Wood.
Gabriele Schepers-Wittig
Gabriele studied music at the Musikhochschule and the University in Cologne. She studied singing with Dr. Mueller-Heuser, Prof. Peter Witsch and Prof. Wilhelm Hecker in Cologne. She is a tutor of vocal training and song interpretation at the University of Duisburg, and has performed frequently in Europe and Egypt, and in India as well.
Fareed Curmally
Fareed divides his time between Europe and Mumbai, and has been playing the piano for over 25 years. His recent travels have taken him to Belgium, France and Poland, apart from some Indian cities.
