'Boiled Beans on Toast' a play in English by the acclaimed playwright, Girish Karnad & directed by Lillete Dubey to feature at Shilpa Kala Vedika, 7th of November at 7:30pm.
A serene, old lady unexpectedly discovers a passion for horse-racing; a small-town youth, devoted to his family, gets mesmerised by prospects of sudden prosperity; a trustworthy servant is discovered floating homeless in the nightmarish streets; and a not-very-bright maid learns how to fight for survival within the confines of a kitchen. What we have is modern city life in its many shadows - funny, tender, moving, relentless in its pursuit of success and buffeted by ceaseless emotional flux
The play with a duration of 105 minutes plus 15 minutes of intermission features Joy Sengupta, Meenal Patel, Deepika Amin, Avantika Akerkar, Maneesh Verma, Swati Das, Avnish Mehra, Divya Unny & Gillian Pinto on stage as cast.
