The 16th edition of the European Union Film Festival is being held from March 23rd to April 3rd at the Prasad Labs Preview Theatre. 19 films, focusing on the theme of "Laugh Like A European", will be screened at the festival.
Four Lions, a British film, will be screened on the last day of the festival, i. e. April 3rd, at 8:00pm. The film is directed by Christopher Morris, and stars Riz Ahmed, Arsher Ali, Nigel Lindsay, Kayvan Novak and Adeel Akhtar.
Four Lions tells the story of a group of British jihadis who push their abstract dreams of glory to breaking point. As the wheels fly off and their competing ideologies clash, what emerges is an emotionally engaging (and an entirely plausible) farce. In a storm of razor-sharp verbal jousting and large-scale set pieces, Four Lions is a comic tour de force; it shows that while terrorism is about ideology, it can also be about idiots.
