South Indian Classical Music On Violin By A Kanyakumari

V N R Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering & Technology (VJIET) is organising its annual college fest Sintillashunz - 2011 from 17th to 20th February, at the college's campus in Bachupally village. As part of the fest, Avasarala Kanyakumari from Chennai will perform a solo violin recital on the opening day at 7:00pm.



Kanyakumari is an accompanist, soloist, teacher, innovator, composer and organiser. She has a B A in Carnatic music, and is trained under Ivathuri Vijayeswara Rao of the AIR, M Chandrashekharan, and thereafter, M L Vasantha Kumari.



Besides India, she has performed in USA, Canada, France, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, Malaysia, Singapore and Sri Lanka. She was awarded with the title Dhanurveena Pravina by Sangeeta Kalanidhi late M S Subbulakshmi, when she completed 25 years as a violinist. Awards have flooded her career spanning over 3 decades - Kalaimamani, Ugadi Puraskar, Sunada Vani, Sangeeta Ratna and Sangeeta Kala Nipuna, to name a few.



She is a sought-after teacher and is known teach talented students without charging any fee.
