The University of Hyderabad, along with Hyderabad Bangalee Samity and Department of Culture, is presenting Basanta Utsav: Roop-Raag, Rabindra Jayanti: 150 years celebrations from 4th to 6th February at the Ravindra Bharathi auditorium. As part of the utsav, Samik Bandyopadhyay will hold an open house on the topic of "Tagore's Vision Of Culture As Civilisation" on 5th February.
Samik Bandyopadhyay is a Kolkata-based critic of Indian art, theatre and film. He has been elected as Vice-Chairman of National School of Drama in New Delhi. He is also a member of the Board Of Studies, School Of Drama And Film, Allahabad University; Academic Council Of The Film And Television Institute Of India in Pune; and the Satyajit Ray Film And Television Institute in Kolkata. He has been involved with Paschim Banga Natya Akademy since its inception in 1987.
