The Times Of India is organising a 9-day Hyderabad festival from 28th January to 5th February at different venues across the city.
On 4th February, south Indian playback singer Karthik will perform a Tollywood-Bollywood Music Night at the Rock Heights, Shilparamam.
Karthik has sung a number of songs for many popular music directors including A R Rahman, Ilayaraaja, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Mickey J Meyer and Harris Jeyaraj. He has sung songs in several languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. Ennaku Oru Girlfriend from the Tamil movie Boys was one of his huge hits as was Oru Maalai from the 2005 film Ghajini. His songs for Telugu films like Kotha Bangaru Lokam (Nijanga Nenanaa), Happy Days (Arare Arare, Oh My Friend) are very popular. His recent track in 2008, inspired by "Ava Enna" from the 2009 film Vaaranam Aayiram, has been well received, as well as his song "Behka" from Ghajini is a hit track all over the world.
In 2010, he sang a track "Behene De" for the Hindi film Raavan, which is widely considered as the biggest song in his career. The track, which topped music charts for many weeks, also received rave critical reviews. It was composed by Rahman and penned by Gulzar. Karthik also sang the Tamil and Telugu versions of the same song.
Language does not seem to be too much of an obstacle for Karthik. Be it Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam or Hindi, most of his songs have been chart-busters.
Entry to all the events is by free invitations, available at The Times Of India office on road no. 2, Banjara Hills, and at Music World outlets. Please contact 6527-7755 for invitations and further details.
