Sri Rama Gana Sabha is organising the 42nd Sri Thyagaraja Aradhana Music Festival from 20th to 31st January at New Nallakunta Ramalayam. Kasturi Kamala Deepthi will be presenting a Carnatic vocal recital on 29th January, and she will be accompanied by M Uma Shankar on the violin and P Srinivas Gopalan on the mridangam.
Kamala Deepthi is a disciple of Pantula Rama from Vizag. She is currently undergoing advanced training from T N Seshagopalan in Chennai. She is a regular performer in the Chennai music festival calenders, and is also proficient in playing veena. She received several awards at a very young age including the Dr. Alhari Singari Gold Medal from Sri Vijaya Tyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha, Visakhapatnam. She is currently doing her post graduation in computers, and is a B-High grade artiste of Akashvani for the last 6 years.
Sri Rama Gana Sabha is one of the oldest cultural associations in the twin cities. It was established in 1949 by Carnatic singer Koniki Satyanarayana Rao. The association organises Sri Thyagaraja Aradhana Music Festival every year.
