Access Livelihoods Consulting India Pvt. Ltd. is organising Tathya-II, a Short And Documentary Film Festival, on 27th & 28th November, at the Ravindra Bharathi auditorium. Some of these documentaries were featured at "Jeevika: Asia Livelihood Documentary Festival" organised by the Centre For Civil Society in Delhi.
Thodi Si Zameen, Thoda Aasmaan, a documentary by Shashi Ghosh Gupta, will be screened on the second and last day, at 3:10pm.
Outside of air-conditioned malls and bustling shopping complexes, there is a world of entrepreneurship out there that manages to survive threats from the 5 elements and much more. The film takes a peek into the world of street entrepreneurs, who lead their lives in the shadow of constant threat. The film takes a look at the problems faced by them.
Phuphabai is a tailor, who repairs clothes, sitting under a tree, to provide a life of dignity to his family. Mukeshbhai refurbishes sofas, struggling to keep his home (which is the road itself) fires burning. Both these individuals appear different, and yet share a similar tale of courage, and a persistence to survive.
Tathya is an effort to help the underprivileged receive recognition for their indispensable contribution towards India's growth story. Through 17 award-winning documentaries and short films, ALC India aims to share the success stories of ordinary people - the unsung heroes - in their struggle to make their ends meet in earning a living with the ever-changing environment.
Tathya has been conceptualized by management graduates from institutes like IRMA, XIMB, NIAM, IMT and Symbiosis, who are all part of the organization ALC India.
