Where success means surmounting obstacles that were thought impossible, it makes for a great movie. Here's how youth that do not belong to call centres are contributin gto India's booming economy.
The film captures some experiences of youth, from marginalized communities, in finding ground in the new economy. India's booming economy has been experiencing a high annual growth rate of over 8%, triggering new employment opportunities. This impressive growth rate, however, has not been matched with the availability of a competent workforce which can exploit the emerging opportunities.
Youth, especially, those who have dropped out of schools, do not find space in the new economy. ILEAD, an employability training program, has trained a lakh youth on employable skills in various trades so far. This film profiles the success of youth from tribal communities, and women and transgenders, in overcoming skill shortage and issues related to identity.
Tathya is an effort to help the underprivileged receive recognition for their indispensable contribution towards India's growth story.
