The Park group of hotels is organising the 4th edition of its annual cultural festival called The Park's New Festival, from 3rd to 26th September in Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Kolkata. In Hyderabad, it will be held from 17th to to 19th September.
The 3-day festival will consist of a ballet by Preethi Athreya on 17th September, a stand-up comedy evening by Vidur Kapur on 18th September, and a Dastangoi performance on 19th September.
As part of the festival, Vidur Kapur will entertain the audience with his stand-up comedy, on the second day. Vidur is a popular comedian among the US campus crowd, and has performed at over 150 US college campuses across the country.
He was a Top 10 Finalist on "New York's Funniest Stand-Up" as part of the famous New York Comedy Festival, was selected as a New York finalist by NBC's "Stand Up For Diversity" initiative, and was described by FOX as "A comedian to remember".
Vidur is a featured act on the Iranian superstar Maz Jobrani's "Brown & Friendly Tour". He has opened for US superstar comics including Mike Epps and Daniel Tosh. Vidur's writing was made available to the public in '09 with his own chapter called "Reincarnated", in a book called "Out on The Edge: America's Rebel Comics" by Mike Player.
He was selected as one of the top 4 Asian comics in North America to perform at the world-famous "Just For Laughs" Comedy Festival in Montreal. He is a headliner at top comedy clubs in New York City that include Carolines on Broadway and Gotham Comedy Club.
Vidur was also featured in a Reuters television piece on "Prominent South Asians In The Media" He has headlined and toured internationally, and has been to Canada, India, the UK, Ireland, the Caribbean and South Africa.
