Alliance Francaise of Hyderabad and Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad, in association with Taj Deccan, Seagram's 100 Pipers, and the Public Affairs US Consulate General Hyderabad, is presenting World Music Day 2010 on 19th June, at Taj Deccan. The one-day event will feature several music programs, starting from 5pm till 10:30pm.
Emani Kalyani Lakshminarayana will start the evening with a Carnatic veena recital.
Kalyani hails from a family of vainikas from Andhra Pradesh. She learnt from her father Maha Mahopadhyaya and Padmasri Late Emani Shankara Sastry.
Kalyani has played at a number of prestigious concerts in all major sangeet sabhas all over India, and has toured USA, UK, Canada and Russia.
Entry to the concert is by free passes, available at Alliance Francaise (West Marredpally), Goethe Zentrum (Nampally), Walden (Begumpet, Banjara Hills) and Kalakriti Art Gallery (Banjara Hills).
