The Moving Images film club, in association with the US Consulate General, is presenting Indo-American Film Festival from 19th to 21st February, at the Prasad Labs Preview Theatre. A total of 8 films will be screened during the 3-day festival. Sita Sings The Blues is the 2nd film on the 2nd day of the film festival, at 3:15pm.
Sita Sings The Blues is a 2008 animated feature film written, directed, produced and animated entirely by American artist Nina Paley (with the exception of some fight animation by Jake Friedman in the "Battle of Lanka" scene) primarily using 2D computer graphics and flash animation.
It intersperses events from an episode of the Ramayana, illustrated conversation between Indian shadow puppets, musical interludes voiced with tracks by Annette Hanshaw and scenes from the artist's own life. The ancient mythological and modern biographical plot are parallel tales, sharing numerous themes.
Entry to the film is on a first-come-first-served basis. Please contact Moving Images at 90000-74950 for further details.
