The Hyderabad Chapter of IETE (The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers) is organizing a lecture at its premises on the 26h June. Organized in the honour of Professor S Narayana, esrtwhile Chairman of the IETE, Hyderabad. the event is open to students and professionals, and will start at 6:30pm.
Dr. Surendra Pal, a distinguished scientist who is the Associate Director & Program Director of the Satellite Navigation Program in the ISRO Satellite Centre, Bangalore, will speak on 'The Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) - An Indian Perspective'. Also, Professor S Narayana will be felicitated at the event.
S Narayana has a degree in Electronics And Communication Engineering from Osmania University in 1972, and an M Tech degree in Advanced Electronics with Computers as specialization from JNTU, Hyderabad. He started his career in DRDO, where he worked in the field of Guided Missile Radar, and subsequently moved to the National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI), CSIR in 1976.
He is recipient of a number of Honours & Awards, including the Best Invention Award instituted by the Exhibition Society at Hyderabad in 2000, and the Engineer Of The Year award by the Government Of AP and The Institution Of Engineers in 2000. He has been actively involved with the IETE for more than 3 decades, during which he served the council for over 10 years, which includes 2 terms as Chairman of LC&IC and 3 terms as Vice President.
Narayana has been responsible for creating the infrastructure and building of the Hyderabad Centre about 30 years back, and then, in its complete renovation, including the Mcaster Hall. Hyderabad Centre, in recognition of Prof Narayana's service and contribution has created a corpus of Rs. 2 lakhs for starting an endowment lecture in his honour. Currently, he is a professor at Aurora Technologies and Research Institute.
