Prerna 2009, an inter-collegiate literary and cultural fest, is being organized by St. Mary's College, on 20th and 21st November, at the college's campus in Yousufguda. This annual fest aims at providing a platform to the students to showcase their talents, and ignite and sharpen their latent skills. Apart from giving students a break from their busy schedule of exams, projects, assignments and bunking classes, it also helps in enhancing their holistic development.
Naturally, Prerna is an event awaited not just by students from St. Mary's, but also by those from other colleges. Last year, the fest had over 500 participants from 26 different colleges, and a turnout of about 2,500 students as the audience as well as participants for various events held in the college campus. This year, about 1,000 participants are expected.
Some of the events during the 2-day fest are as follows:
What's The Good word (Dept. of English)
Recitation Of Verses (Dept. of IInd language)
Code Debugging And PC Assembling (Dept. of Comp.Sc.)

In addition, there are various competitions that include Painting, Pencil Sketching, Pot Painting, Tattoo Making, Greeting Card Making, Rangoli, Mehendi etc., being held at different venues in the college campus.
