Dr Anurodh Mohan Dayal, who has an M. Sc. and a Ph. D. in Geology, joined CSIR-NGRI in November 1978, and established the first K-Ar geochronology lab in India for the age determination of various rock types. Later, he worked on the Rb-Sr and Sm-Nd isotopic dating system.
In 2002, he joined Petroleum Geochemistry, and from 2006, he was heading the group. He set up a microbiology lab, a GC-MS-MS lab and a rock eval pyrolysis system. During his tenure, he worked with various oil companies in their exploration block.
