The second edition of Pets & Aquarium Expo 2009, a 3-day exhibition, is being organized by Aqua International (an English monthly magazine on the aqua sector in India) and NRS Exhibitions, from 24th to 26th November, at the Institute of Engineers. The expo will start from 10am.
The show aims at bringing every segment of the pets and aquarium sectors onto a common platform of buyers and sellers. The National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), Animal Welfare Society, Virbac Animal Health and others have set up stalls to cater to both those who already have pets and those who don't but wish own one. Aquariums of all kinds, including aesthetically designed wall mounted ones, dominate the exhibition, as fish seem to be a popular choice among prospective buyers. The NFDB is marketing ornamental aquariums on behalf of self-help groups and other entrepreneurs.
For those who are looking to buy a pet, the exhibition has a storehouse of information to help you out. Tips on preparing your home for the pet, naming it, travelling with it, vaccinating it and toilet training, are all there to help novice pet owners. Also, doctors from the Animal Welfare Society are available, to conduct free check-ups and give prescriptions. Free anti-rabies vaccines for pets are also being provided.
