Unfortunately, Firdaus cannot get the Nizams out of the history pages. The Nizami cuisine and ghazals, however, sound like a good compromise.
The Firdaus restaurant at the Taj Krishna is presenting the Nawabi cuisine for all laymen. Get a dose of the Nizami cuisine, available both in the vegetarian and the non-vegetarian genres.
For the veggies, they have Bhagara Baigan, Dum-Ka-Paneer, Nizami Handi, Mirchi-Ka-Salan etc. And for the non-vegetarians, there is Thinge-Ka-Salan, Haleem, Dum-Ke-Kofta, Dum-Ka-Murg, Amata Ghosht etc. In the biryani section, you can look forward to Yakhni Dum Ki Ghosht Biryani, Murg Biryani, Sabji-Ki-Biryani etc. And there are pulaos for those who are simply tired of even hearing the word Biryani.
There are a total of 25 varieties of veg and non-veg kebabs. North-Indian cuisine is also available on the menu. If you drop by in the evenings, look forward to a ghazal program by Amar Kumar.
