The show has been inspired from a patchwork of Hamlet narratives/memories/writings/notes/scribbles of Heiner Muller, Andrei Tarkovsky, Takeshi Kawamura and Sohrab Modi. It has been directed and designed by Parnab Mukherjee, and performed by him.
This piece is a quilt stitched from a director's point-of-view of designing a piece called Hamlet. It pays tribute to 450 years of William Shakespeare's birth commemoration, and looks at an internal monologue that goes inside Hamlet's mind.
The purpose of the piece is to peep into a director's mind as he rehearses the play, and also to decode the goings-on in the world from a south Asian pair of eyes, and not make the Bard a construct of the diction-delivery-costume axis.
