Remember Rao Bala Saraswati Devi? For those who can't, she was the first female playback singer to have rendered for almost all of the yesteryears' Telugu flicks. Today, the Sangam Academy is celebrating her 77th birth anniversary by conferring upon her the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The program comprises of a performance by local artists Vinod Babu and Chaitra among others, who will commemmorate Saraswati Devi's efforts by singing her songs. For her magic to come back alive is unworkable, but an event of this magnitude doesn't pass by you often.
The chief guests' list is star-studded - Dr. Akkineni Nageshwar Rao, Jayasudha, Dr. C. Narayan Reddy, Dharmavarupu Subramaniam, and much more of Tollywood's glitterati. One of the many reasons to be at the venue to race back into Telugu cinema's golden history.
This is the chance to rejuvenate yourself with some Telugu film music belonging to Devi's era. Although it wouldn't be her who is singing live, listening to the artists simulating her might not be such a bad option either.
