For most of the rest of us, the only way of enjoying devotional music is if it appears in a hit movie. So how do Bhakta Kannappa and Bhaktha Tukaram sound to you?
Sri Krishna Swara Raga Sravanthi is organising a musical nite by renowned playback singer V Ramakrishna Das, at Sri Thyagaraja Gana Sabha on the 8th of October. Das has done playback singing for many movies, and songs from movies like Bhakta Kannappa, Mahakavi Kshetraya, Chakradhari and Bhaktha Tukaram will be sung by him and his group tonite.
Sri Krishna Swara Raga Sravanthi was established in July 2006 at Bagh Amberpet, by Y Sri Ramakrishna, an SBI employee and also a news reader in Doordarshan's Saptagiri channel. The organisation had its debut event on 18th July at Ravindra Bharati, the proceeds from from which were donated to an orphanage and also for the cause of blind or mentally-retarded children.
