Heritage Sites aren't always about the most-photographed Charminar and the Chowmahalla. This dargah is one of the Hyderabad Adventure Club's favourite haunts.
The Great Hyderabad Adventure Club is organising a trek to the Moulali Hills this weekend. All the participants will be assembling at the foot of Moulali Dargah. This is a very mild trek and good for starters and for people who are planning for major treks.
The Moula Ali Dargah is 25kms from Nampally and is one of the 11 heritage sites identified by the "Heritage Conservation Committee" of the HMDA. There is a long staircase of 500 steps to climb up the hill to reach the dargah. Once the participants reach the dargah at about 6:30am, they can take some time watching the sun rise and then can start a few trips up and down the hill from different directions along with rock climbing. If time permits, participants can also go to the nearby rocks.
If you're up for participation, you must wear full track pants and T-shirts, sport or trekking shoes (preferably with knee support) and a sun cap, and carry a water bottle. You may get along some fruits, juices, energy bars or something to munch on after and during the trek. And those who're avid photographers can also carry a camera to take a few snaps.
The Hyderabad Adventure Club is a non-profit club that has been established with an aim to provide everyone opportunities to get outdoors and try new activities including travel, trekking, hiking, camping and adventure sports like rock climbing, rappelling, paragliding, skiing, white water rafting and scuba diving. The mission of the club is to get close to nature and enjoy it in an eco-friendly manner; to experience trekking, hiking and outdoor activities; and to learn tips, tricks, techniques & first aid for safe and comfortable outdoor adventuring.
Adults (18 - 60 years) may participate out of free will, Juniors II (13 -17 years) will need the written consent of a parent or a guardian, and Juniors I (8 -12 years) must be accompanied by a parent or a guardian.
Rs. 20 will be collected from all participants as donation. Please contact Padmaja at 93913-96859 or Diyanat at 98850-39230 for registrations and further details.
