Marana Simhasanam - A Malayalam Film By Murali Nair

The Alliance Francaise, in association with the Hyderabad Film Cluband The French Embassy Of India is presenting the Festival Of The Cannes Film Festival. Movies featured at the Cannes Film Festival will be screened at the Prasad Mini Theatre from the 22nd to t he 27th of May on every successive day.

Marana Simhasanam, or the Throne Of Death is about Krishnan, a farmer who works day and night for his landlord. He plucks some coconuts from the landlord's land and is caught and paraded to the police station. There he is falsely held responsible for an unproven murder case. The Court sentences Krishnan for death penalty.

This 60 minute play is directed by Murali Nair and the characters are played by Vishwas Njarakkal , Lakshmi Raman. It won the Golden Camera Award in 1999.
