The Hyderabad Film Club is screening an Egyptian film "Le Chaos" on 12th February at the Sarathi Studios, Ameerpet. Le Chaos (also known as "This Is Chaos" in English) is a film from the Egyptian director Youssef Chahine, and stars Khaled Saleh, Menna Shalabi, Youssef El Sherif, Hala Sedki and Hala Fakher.
A scene of riots, harshly repressed, opens this feature film that follows the tradition of Egyptian cinema to deliver a strong political message.
Chaos is the allegory of a state plagued by corruption. Hatem is a corrupt policeman who reigns supreme in the neighborhood of Shubra, Cairo. He harasses all its inhabitants except Nour, a young modern woman he covets. The man personifies an Egypt plagued by impunity.
Amidst this chaos, women and men fight and bring their youth and enthusiasm to serve the advent of a new Egypt.
