The introductory art appreciation workshop will include renowned artists, critics, curators and collectors. It intends to be a forum for discussion and debate on current trends and approaches, in the Indian and broader global art market.
Beginning with a brief history of art and aesthetics, the workshop will help decode contemporary Indian art by taking the participants through various phases of its development until now.
There will be illustrated lectures on classical art, the progressive artists' group, contemporary scene, focusing on new trends and some well-known artists' work. There will also be discussion sessions on how to look at art, what and how to choose and collect, and how to take care of one's collection.
The full-day workshop was conceptualised by Archana Bahl and Prashant Lahoti, and will feature interactive sessions led by a faculty of leading experts.
The workshop is suitable for those interested in understanding and appreciating or collecting art. Participation in the workshop will be restricted to prior bookings.
