The Hyderabad Film Club, in collaboration with the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Mumbai, is presenting a Korean Film Festival from 23rd to 29th April, at Prasad Labs Preview Theatre. A total of 9 Korean films will be screened during the week-long festival.
Take Off is the only film to be screened on the 4th day of the festival, on 26th April. The film is directed by Kim Yong-Hwa, and stars Ha Jeong-Woo, Seong Dong-Il and Kim Ji-Seok.
In 1996, a small Korean town is undergoing some large-scale construction in preparation for the Winter Olympics. Right in the middle of the process, the local committee receives a report that they do not have sufficient athletes to compete.
The committee then forms a ski jump team in order to represent the event. Former American junior alpine athlete Bob is an adoptee who came to Korea in search of his mother. With 4 other non-experienced athletes, he forms the first Korean ski jump team. There's no turning back, and it's a challenge they are committed to.
Entry to all the films is free, and is on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please contact Bh Prakash Reddy, Secretary of the Hyderabad Film Club, at 93910-20243 for further details.
