The Hyderabad Film Club, in collaboration with the Consulate General of the Republic Of Korea in Mumbai, is presenting a Korean Film Festival from 23rd to 29th April, at Sarathi Studio. A total of 9 Korean films will be screened during the week-long festival.
200 Pounds Beauty is the last film to be screened, on 29th April. The film is directed by Kim Yong-Hwa, and stars Kum A-Jung and Ju Jin-Mo.
Hanna is a good-natured hard working woman who has been blessed with a knockout voice. Thanks to this, she is hired to perform as a "ghost singer" for a sexy, hot-tempered young pop star named Ammy. As Ammy struts about the stage, lip-syncing amidst her crowd of backup singers and dancers, Hanna is backstage in front of the microphone.
No one takes seriously the prospect of Hanna becoming a pop star on her own, because at 169cm and 95kg, she's pretty far from the thin and pretty prototype. However, she seems happy enough pouring her heart into song each night, and staying as close as she can to Ammy's good-looking young music producer Sang-Joong, who seems to genuinely enjoy her company.
Entry to all the films is free, and is on a first-come-first-served basis. Please contact Bh Prakash Reddy, Secretary of the Hyderabad Film Club, at 93910-20243 for further details.
