REVIEW FOR JASHN-E-CHARMINAR - CULTURAL FESTIVAL

If you're watching your weight, give the chocolate Charminar at Westin a miss, and be a part of an evening saluting the real thing.

Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Foundation, in association with Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, is presenting Jashn-E-Charminar, the Charminar Festival. The event takes place on 25th September, at the Charminar. Organised for the first time, the festival will feature several cultural programs, ranging from theatre and music to art, as below:

Poetry reading by Farooq Shaikh and Mohammad Ali Baig, written by the founder of Hyderabad, King Quli Qutub Shah

Sufiana Kalaam by singer Zila Khan (daughter of legendary Ustad Vilayat Khan), singing praises of Charminar

Qawwalis by the famous Warsi Gharana Ustad Ahsan Khan and Adil Hussain Khan

There will be food stalls and kiosks selling traditional Hyderabadi short eats, set up around the place. The event starts at 7:00pm, and will go on till 10:45pm.
