Sravanthi Juluri is presenting an art exhibition titled "Jaago Stree: Elimination of Violence Against Women" at Lamakaan on 28 November 2012 at 10:30am, and the entry to the event is free.
Jaago Stree lends its voice to the suffering of women and the girl child. It marks a new line of interpretations for the artist on a subject close to her heart. She expresses her feelings on several issues faced by women and the girl child alike. Through her works she talks about atrocities women are subjected to, like female foeticide, child molestation, in addition to dowry deaths and domestic violence. Her works are very passionate, and aim at leaving a deep impact on the audience.
Through her works, she wishes to lend a voice to the women who suffer in silence by encouraging them to come out of the darkness. Jaago Stree aims to invoke the "Shakti" in every "Stree". United Nations marks November 25th as the International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women. Please join us at the "Jaago Stree!!!" art show and support the cause, lets us make the world a safer place for women and the girl child.
