On the occasion of National Science Day, Dr. Priya Hasan would be taking us through the Indian Space Program. India is one of the very few countries with a successful space program. I shall explain why Space Astronomy is an essential mode of observations in Astronomy. I shall describe the Indian Space Program with special reference to satellites and missions for Astronomy, including Chandrayaan, Mangalyaan, Astrosat, Aditya, etc. Future plans of studies in the international context will also be discussed.
