Prof. Swaminathan will be speaking on the topic of Indian Musical Heritage (with some comparisons to ancient & modern Western classical music), on 24th October, at La Makaan. The program schedule is as follows:
3:00pm to 4:00pm - Session 1
4:00pm to 4:30pm - Snacks break
4:30pm to 5:30pm - Session 2
Prof S Swaminathan is a man of varied experience. He served as a Professor in Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, for 32 years. In spite of being a man with mechanical engineering background, he had a deep interest in historical monuments. His book "Mahabalipuram: Unfinished Poetry In Stone" is one example, and his next target is to write a book on the Kailasanatha temple, Kanchi.
