Bollywood acting bigwigs Vinay Pathak, Cyrus Sahukar, Aadar Malik, Joy Fernandes, Faezeh Jalali and Shruti Vyas are staging a Shakespearean comedy play titled, "I don't like it as you like it" and directed by popular actor/director Rajat Kapoor, at Shilpakala Vedika, Hitec City, on February 12.
The Shakespearean comedy theatre festival returns with four adaptations across 11 cities in India. Starring some of the biggest names from Bollywood, this four-month tour is guaranteed to be India's largest theatre festival with a simple promise to make you laugh like you've never before. Actors including Kalki Koechlin and Ranvir Shorey will also enact along with the rest of the troupe in other plays.
As the story goes, a troupe of clowns has not been doing too well lately. Combined with the downhill box financial status, the relationships among the clowns is all messed up. Nobody can stand anybody else in the troupe really. They keep fighting, couples go through their own broken relationships, and amid all of this, the director tries to put up another Shakespearean play. To make matters even worse, he decides that the men will play women and women, men. The troupe rebels. But in spite of all their fears and doubts, they do manage to put up a show eventually, and in the process they discover something new about themselves.
