The Hyderabad Literary Festival 2016 (HLF), a cultural extravaganza, was celebrated with intellectually stimulating pieces of Indian literary and cultural works, with a hint of foreign literary heritage added to it. Partnering with Goethe-Zentrum, the HLF 2017, showcasing some of the most cerebral works in Literature from January 27 to 29, promises to be more splendid.
HLF focuses on one Indian language in each of its editions. This time around, the fete will be Tamil-centric, one of the oldest languages in India that boasts of having some of the most scholastic literary works of all times. HLF will also have a session on the endangered languages in Tamil Nadu.
Talks, conversations, panel discussions, readings, workshops, exhibitions, book launches, cultural programs, and events for college and school students will be a part of the festival.
Inviting a guest nation to showcase its literary, artistic and cultural works is an important and defining feature of HLF's inclusive nature; Philippines is the guest in 2017.
Apart from this, there is also a rich German contribution to the forthcoming event in store.
Started in 2010, HLF is an annual event that celebrates creativity in all its forms, and is a multi-disciplinary and multi-lingual event that draws hundreds of writers, artistes, academics, scholars and publishers from India and abroad each year.
The festival represents the rich and cosmopolitan ethos of the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, as well as the vibrant culture of the modern Cyberabad.
Goethe-Zentrum, Manthan, Orient BlackSwan, Telangana Tourism and the Hyderabad Public School are the official sponsors of the event.
