The evening will resound with soulful intonation as Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty unfurls his vocal talent. Recipient of prestigious awards such as the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award and Kumar Gandharva Award, he has outshined in more than just Hindustani music.
Pandit Chakrabarty has also made a foray in Carnatic music. Owing to consistent interactions with numerous musicians, the world over, he has explored country music as well as jazz. Based on his vast knowledge of music this virtuoso has conceptualised and founded a learning institute, ShrutiNandan, which urges gifted youngsters to grasp the basics of vocal music.
This renowned vocalist gained the love for music and his initial training from his father, Shri Ajit Kumar Chakrabarty. Consequently, Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty apprenticed with the Patiala Gharana maestro, Ustad Munawar Ali Khan, son of none other than Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan.
