Lamakaan celebrates its 5th Anniversary with a week-long events from 10-15th March.
Showcasing on the penultimate day on Saturday, the 14th March at 7pm, is a "Hindustani - Carnatic Jugalbandi" between two of the city's renowned classical singers - Smt. Aradhana Karhade Shastry & Sri N CH Parthasarathy. They will be accompanied by Sri Suhas Shastry & Rahul Deshpande.
A Khayal singer and music teacher based in Hyderabad Aradhana ji is a sishya of the renowned Vasantrao Rajurkar. She also got mentored by her parents Smt. Usha Karhade & Dr. N. K. Karhade. She has given many memorable performances in Hyderabad, Maharashtra, Delhi, Belgaum and Mumbai. A student of Akhil Bharatiya Gandharava Maha Vidhyalaya, She's a B-High Grade Artists at All India Radio. She will be accompanied on Tabla by her husband Sri Suhas Shastry, a Music teacher. Suhasji has performed with Malini Rajurkar, Aarti Ankalikar, Pandit Jasraj, Rajan and Sajan Mishra among others. He's a guru to a whole new generation of tabla players of Hyderabad. He has been awarded Sangeet Alankar at Mumbai and Sangeet Prabhakar from Allahabad.
Sri Partha Sarathy Iyengar an orthodox musician from "Nallan Chakravartula" family, who are dedicated to music and literature for generations. His early musical training came from Late Sri.Sishtu Prabhakara Krisnamurthy Sastry and later from his uncle Sri N Ch Krishnamacharya, exponent in sangeeta sahithya and D.Sheshachay and Raghavachary popularly known as Hyderabad-Broders. He received his post doctrate in Karnatic classical music and become a full time concert musician and profound Guru.
Sri Parthasarathy received many awards and titles like Sapthaswara vidwanmani, Sangeetha Rathasarathi, Yuvakala Baharathi.
