Vroom and roar into this marriage of motorcycling and music. Helmets aren't compulsory, but adrenaline rushes sure are.
Harley-Davidson India is presenting Harley Rock Riders, an annual music platform which will bring together motorcycling and music, honoring Harley-Davidson's historic association with rock & roll and its legends.
In its first year, Harley Rock Riders are set for a 5-city tour accompanied by Split and guest performances by Them Clones, Thermal And A Quarter, Menwhopause, Native Tongue and Indus Creed. In Hyderabad, Native Tongue will be performing alongside Split, on 28th October, at the Hard Rock Cafe.
Split was formed in 2001, and has Garreth on the vocals, Mel and Aviv on the guitars, Shekhar on the bass and Nigel on the drums. Split's music is equally about conflict and resolution. Themes range from the epic to the mundane, from slimy evangelists to train travel, from revolution to becoming "adult", and from existential angst to the eternal favourite - a broken heart.
At the end of 2008, the band took an extended break, during which all 5 members pursued various other paths, musical and non-musical. The band is now back with a vengeance.
Native Tongue is a Hyderabadi Garage Rock / Power band, consisting of Baba with the bass and vocals, Joel with the vocals and drums & Benhur on the guitar. The band won the Hyderabad finals of the Pepsi Hero Honda Campus Rock Idols Contest in 2004. The influences of the band include Green Day, Steely Dan, The Killers, Dire Straits, Van Halen, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jimi Hendrix, Jaco Pastorius, Charlie Parker, John Mayer and Mr. Big.
