The Sports Coaching Foundation is organizing a day-and-night junior football tournament in the name of Haji Mohd. Habeeb. The tournament will take place on the 18th & the 19th of May 2009, at the MCH & SCF Sports Complex, Masab Tank.
Haji Mohd. Habeeb, a veteran football player, had a distinguished career playing for the country for 10 years. He captained the Indian team at the pre-Olympic games in the year 1971 at Rangoon, and also represented AP and Bengal on various occasions. After retirement, his coaching skills were grabbed by the Tata Football Academy and all the 3 top football teams of Bengal - East Bengal, Mohan Bagah and Mohmmeden Sporting. Hailing from Hyderabad, this Arjuna awardee has been appointed observer for the Football Development Programme, by the Sports Ministry, Government of India.
Interested teams can obtain free entry form from the Sports Complex, Masab Tank. The SCF is also organising a Football Coaches Clinic during the event, with latest audio-visuals on children's football coaching, through DVDs imported from countries including Argentina and Germany.
