Tell Them, The Tree They Had Planted Has Now Grown is a 2001 Kashmiri-English film (runtime: 58 minutes) directed by Ajay Raina.
The movie is a cinematic diary of a Kashmiri revisiting Kashmir to witness the scars of a "paradise", now lost. Ajay Raina looks at the lives of the Kashmiris who have stayed behind, and their struggles. He examines the changing scenario ? the ideology, the history and the cause of militancy in Kashmir.
The film comprises memoirs of people and places. It also delves into the psychological scars, the despair and the hopes for a better future, a better "Kashmir".
The film festival is being presented by FD ZONE (Mumbai), in association with Kashmiris In Hyderabad, Moving Images, Documentary Circle Of Hyderabad, Prasad Film Labs, Lamakaan, University of Hyderabad, EFL University, NALSAR University, Annapurna International School of Film + Media & St. Ann's College. The festival will feature documentaries, features, shorts, readings and discussions on Kashmir.
